Time to Dye

AT LAST!!!!!! I’m printing! wahoooooo…..

First things first I needed to tidy Dr Chromic’s (Sara) cupboard which will now be shared with me… It was an exciting task as there’s all sorts of Liquid Crystal and Leuco Dyes, special binders and unidentified bits and pieces. As you can see it is now all neat and tidy and in order of temperature threshold!

Then picking some Black leuco dye that changes at 40 degrees and some other colours with lower temperature thresholds.

Pushing the dye through a sieve was required to remove lumps and therefore get a better print finish. After a good mix into the binder I have 4 colours and I’m dying to get going. I’m ready to print with my new screens.

First layer of the design goes on and waits to dry.

I’m satisfied with the result and after baking the designs return to white really quite well and I’m happy with the designs which I’ll hopefully be taking further.

A successful day printing.

I’m impressed that the order has been restored in the cupboard – it’s great to see it being used again. Amazing Lynsey!
