Who am I?

We are only me now – Lynsey Calder.

The blog is now populated by the work and musings of Lynsey since her departure (amicable :)) from Heriot Watt University in August 2013.

Previously the blog was written by Lynsey Calder (Enter The Fold), had a couple of posts by Sara Robertson (DJCAD) and the blessing of Ruth Aylett and Sandy Louchart who were a multi-disciplinary research team at Heriot-Watt University bringing together Smart Textile Design and Computer Science. As the key researcher Lynsey recorded the inspiration, process and progress of the research through this blog.

The initial idea for the project is outlined here http://cdi.hw.ac.uk/smart-costumes/

Lynsey is no longer working at Heriot Watt University but continues to work on the project, taking the costume to next stages and showcasing its progress.
Lynsey can be contacted on lynseycalder@hotmail.com should anyone wish to discuss the smart costumes project or anything else you see on here further.

Hello, I am truly inspired by the work and your work is highly commendable. I wanted to know as to where you sourced the thermochromic dyes from.
    Many thanks

      Hello,
Sorry for my delayed response… I’ve been lucky enough to be sponsored during the research phase by LCR Hallcrest. I have also bought dyes from korea. It’s not easy to source dyes. I’m fining it difficult myself…. Any tips would be gratefully received.
      Cheers
